Venice

Venice was very photogenic, and the sun graciously provided a rare quality of light that lasted all through the day. The light allowed for exposures that captured a sense of languor and warmth, like how the parked gondolas swayed passively with the cadence of the rippling water.

In the evening we took an exorbitant gondola ride, simply because we were in Venice. Though initially sour with having to part with 80 Euros for a meagre 30 minute ride, my disapprobation was quickly quenched when I saw, in the moment the gondola made its entrance into the Grand Canal, the glory of the setting sun. Perfect portrait light.

Venice was a pretty city, though aside from the canals and dainty narrow walkways, I found nothing else to interest me. It's a good thing there was good light which afforded some satisfactory shots.

That being said, I did have the best 5 course meal of my life thus far.
